Refreshed and Revived

It isn't often that I am at a conference where I come away with such inspiration and fire in my bones. My two days at the Gospel Heritage (www.gospelheritage.org) conference in Jacksonville Florida were life changing. The music was sensational. The preaching was authentic, real, gusty and filled with power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I was so impressed by the number of people who were transparent and "true-faced" before the congregation, admitting their struggles and their desire to have their passion for Jesus returned as it was in the days when we first followed His call.

I was blessed to be a small part of this conference. I was filled to overflowing. I saw a people gathered to learn, grow, and impact their world. As keynote speaker Kirk Franklin said Thursday morning, "I can impress you with my successes. I impact you with my failures."

With so many in the body of Christ wrestling and struggling with their lives, it seems the holy Spirit is calling us to our first love, to be filled with the passion and fire we had when we first believed. Sadly the "church" tends to kill that passion, innoculating us against the power and wonder of the Spirit as we settle for what was.

I want what is coming. I want the fire.

I must also tell you about about a group of gospel singers from Sweden who brought down the house Thursday morning. Check them out at www.bygrace.se. Such passion, such fire, such sounds!!!!

WOW!!!!

I am refreshed and revived.
